This post is a definite throwback. When I first started my blog I used to share a lot of the places that I had visited recently. But recently I’ve been trying to be more present when I spend more time with my friends – less phone time, and less taking pictures.
Then a couple of weeks ago my dear friend spent the weekend with me and we ended up trekking across the city for tea. It is kind of a theme for us. We went to Vanitea together in Ottawa last year. Also for my 21st birthday we went for tea at the Chateau Laurier.
We ended up at this amazing little place called Kitten and Bear. It was a tiny little place with only two tables that makes and sells its own artisanal jam. They also work with the Sloane Tea Company to create their own special blend (which I didn’t actually have).
They have so many options of things that you can purchase including a large selection of jams, tea, scones, pins and more. I was really tempted to buy one of there adorable pins. But I didn’t, maybe I’ll have to go back. The tea service takes 45 min and is $17.50 per person. There are no reservations so just show up and hope for the best.
They give you time to read the menu, smell the teas and really take your time to decide. I ended up going up with the Darjeeling 2nd Flush, a favourite of mine. Sloane Tea Company offers so many options you’ll definitely be able to find something you like.
Then they bring out two amazingly large scones, that they bake right there where you can see it. Then there are four artisanal jams for you to try. We had an early grey one, a pear one, a banana one and a raspberry/strawberry one. Sorry I can’t remember the exact specifications. But the banana, bourbon, vanilla was so life changing I bought some for my mom.
If you’re ever in Toronto you should definitely head to Kitten and Bear at 1574 Queen St W. and definitely worth the trek out there. Let me know if you go over there!
I’ll see you tomorrow for a fun new post.
