Hi there! I hope you’re all well. Fridays always feel like a good day for a catch up. At work my colleagues are always more chatty on Friday and I feel like everyone is this way – especially when it’s sunny out. So I thought today we’d have a little chat and talk about all of the things I’ve been loving lately.
I can’t believe it’s been a month since my last one of these… but I’m enjoying doing little check-ins. If you’re interested, the one from February and the one from January. Let me know in the comments what you have been loving lately!
To listen to: There are two things I’ve been listening to basically all nonstop this week and they’re both very different. The first is the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack. After seeing the movie I loved the updated songs so much and my partner was very into them too. So we listened to them on the drive to and from our cabin this past weekend.
Then I’ve also been listening to Drake’s new mixtape, particularly the song Passionfruit. I’m really into it. I keep listening to the songs as I’m showering and getting ready in the morning. Very into it.
To eat: When it comes to what I eat for lunch at work I go through phases. I get really into one thing and will eat that everyday for three weeks and then the sight of it makes me disgusted. Right now I’m really into healthy pizza wraps. You can always figure out what I’m really into for lunch by checking out my pinterest board. Always looking for new suggestions!
Also my friend and I went to a French bakery in Toronto called Delysees on Wednesday night and it was so beautiful. Everything in there is so instagrammable and they know it! There are signs saying they love when people take photos. We got some amazing chocolates and then I got a rainbow flourless chocolate dome and he got this berry tower that didn’t even look like food.
To drink: Last night I went and picked up some Raven Conspiracy wine from the LCBO (if you don’t live in Ontario it’s the liquor store here, if you don’t live in Canada it’s basically the only place you can buy alcohol around here). It’s so good and I’m bringing it with me to Ottawa this weekend. I’m heading to Ottawa to celebrate my birthday so the friend that I’m staying with are going to drink wine and eat pizza when I get there.
Also I’ve been really into pinning drinks recently, you should check out my pinterest drinks board. There’s alcohol of course but also coffee, hot chocolate and lots of lemonade (I’m obsessed).
To wear: A couple of weeks ago I put in a little Asos order in preparation for Spring. I wanted to have everything ready for whenever the weather starts to warm up. So when it was the first day of Spring on Monday I cracked and wore a piece already.
Then the next day was warm and I couldn’t help myself, so I wore a new dress. The first piece is this pair of printed pants. I’m super into them and it’s a bit of a departure for me. The dress is super classic me – just a t-shirt cut with a v-neck and stripes but I love it.
To put on my face: this category is a new addition so I can talk about makeup and skincare. The Sephora Tarte birthday gift this year is amazing. If you get the choice pick the Tarte one. The blush shade is amazing and I’m such a fan of the lipstick, a matte nude is always great. I’ve been wearing the blush every day and I’m not sure what I’m going to do once it runs out since it’s a shade exclusive to the birthday gift.
To watch: I’ve been SO into Big Little Lies. There are only two more episodes for the entire season (there are seven in total – five are out now, go watch!) and I know absolutely nothing about the crime but I’m so into it anyways. The characters are fascinating and it’s amazing to see this project helmed by such amazing women. Shailene Woodley and Nicole Kidman are giving such powerful performances. Reese Witherspoon is so good at this character and watching Laura Dern freak out is a delight.
To do: I’m going to have to say train trips! I spend so much time on the train right now heading to visit my partner or my friends so I better like them. Last weekend I was visiting him but this weekend I’ll be on the train for double the time to head to see all of my best friends (except one) in Ottawa. So so excited to spend time with them. There will be so many hugs.
To read: WHY did I not have a to read category before?! Anyways I’ve been trying to get back into the habit of reading because I love it a lot but it’s easy to get distracted by other things. On World Poetry Day (Tuesday) I picked up a book called The Princess Saves Herself in This One by Amanda Lovelace (side note: what a great last name). It’s so beautiful and you should definitely check it out.
What have you been loving lately? Do you have any fun recommendations?
