I could easily write a post filled with beautiful vistas and faraway places that I want to go to. But that wouldn’t really be fair because I, in all honesty, probably won’t go to any of those places this year.
While blogging I don’t share all of the ups and downs of my life to try to keep some things private – I mean we all present our lives with a glossy sheen online – but I also always want to be honest while doing this. So I’m going to share with you some of the places I really do want to – and plan to at least try my best to get to this year.
This year will be filled with money saving and future plan making but that doesn’t mean my life is on hold. I can still get out there and explore and see things. So I hope to inspire you to see more of your own backyard with this post. I’ll keep you up to date as I continue my summer road trip series from last summer don’t worry.
Pacific Rim National Park
If you’re from Canada you probably know that this year National Parks are free as long as you get a Discover Pass. Last year I had one of these passes for Fundy National Park. I don’t think I wrote a dedicated blog post to that park but I’m completely in love with it. I will miss getting to go there basically every weekend.
I’ve talked before about how Pacific Rim National Park is on my bucket list. I have been to British Columbia twice before but never to Victoria and I want to go so badly. Added to that my partner is from there and one of my best friends live there – I need to go. I might just actually get the chance…
For those not familiar with Canada’s west coast, Tofino is on the same island as Pacific Rim National Park. It’s supposed to be one of the most beautiful places in the world and has some of the best surfing in the world and some wonderful whale watching. If I end up at Pac Rim then I’ll need to make my way down to Tofino as well…
Point Pelee National Park
This one is actually much more attainable than the other two because it’s a whole lot quicker. I also talked last summer about how this is on my bucket list. Covered in marsh, a great place to go kayaking and the southern most point of Canada? Sounds good to me.
Thousand Islands National Park
You’re probably sensing a theme here – what can I say? I’m a National Parks addict added to that I love to hike but have never actually been camping (besides on Girl Guides trips) and really want to go with my partner. This park has the added bonus of being incredibly close to where he currently lives. I think we’ll probably end up turning this one into our new Fundy and hitting it as often as possible. Maybe even convincing some lovely friends to come camping with us.
Hey now – I mixed it up a little bit. This one isn’t a national park, it’s a provincial park. I’ve never actually been surprisingly. My dad and brother used to go on camping trips yearly but I wasn’t a part of it. It’s a massive park filled with tons of beauty and islands.
Last year on our drive from Kingston to Moncton we passed closely to Quebec City but we made it one big long drive – 14 hours straight and didn’t stop. I’ve been to Montreal before but would really like to go to Quebec City as it has way more history and is supposed to be so beautiful and historic.
I actually have everything all booked and I will be heading off to Miami in the next couple of months. It’s for business so I won’t partying it up the whole time, but if you have any suggestions of what I should do in Miami let me know! I’ve been to Florida a lot but I’ve never been to Miami so I’m really excited. I feel like it’s the cultural hub of the state and I’m excited to go find a cubano and wander around a little taking it all in.
Where do you want to go in 2017? Do you have any travel plans? Have you been to any of these places before? Any suggestions if I go?
