When I started seeing bomber jackets pop up in all of the stores and on all of the runways I knew of course that they were going to be this fall’s fashion trend. I don’t buy into every trend, last fall it was all about the 70s, which is really not my thing. But I like to pick trends that match with my overall style and incorporate them more into my wardrobe. It’s also a good way to change things up and inject some new life into what you wear.
The first jacket I bought was from New Look, and is a really good choice if you want a lower end, less expensive jacket. It’s light weight so it’s good for that transition from summer to fall.
I picked this particular jacket because I have a lot of plain, neutral jackets already. I didn’t need something beige or khaki or black. Instead I went for the muted pink and blue tones that give the jacket a fun flare. I also had my eye on one with sequins down the sleeves but decided this was a little more practical.
Then over the weekend I was looking through Topshop (which is currently nothing but bomber jackets in case you’re in the market) and fell in love with a maroon version. I don’t wear a lot of red, or red-toned, items because of the colour of my hair. It clashes. But lately I’ve been slowly buying more maroon things. Lipstick and nail polish at first and then eased into buying a shirt, and now this jacket.
The inside is fuzzy and the jacket is much thicker than my other one so I will probably trade off the New Look jacket for this one in November. Topshop jackets cost at least $100 but with their ever present student discount, it’s worth it.
What do you think about bomber jackets? Will you be wearing them this fall?
I’ll be going away this weekend to visit some friends so feel free to follow me on social media to see what we get up to. But don’t forget to follow me on bloglovin’
