Welcome back to Currently Coveting! I got some good feedback on April’s so I think this is going to be a consistent series, and as it’s my first post of the month. You can check out April Currently Coveting first. As an update on that list: I got the sunglasses from Milk and I got a new pair of running shoes, and will probably end up buying new black jeans before the week is up.
April was a tough month. It insanely busy with finishing my undergrad, moving out of Ottawa (I haven’t moved to Moncton yet, I’ll probably do a road trip post about that), interning and saying some sad goodbyes. But also it’s been awhile since I was last paid because I wasn’t working during school so my currently coveting list has stacked up as my finances are scarce.
I know I’m late to the party on this but forgive me because I really had no need for this kind of bag before. I have a backpack (a trusty one from lululemon that got me through grade 12 and all of university), and a few purses.
I really didn’t see the need for a stylish backpack as I couldn’t fit all my school stuff in it and I preferred purses when I was going out. But now that I’m starting my new job I realize I often bring a lot of things with me that make carrying a purse annoying, but my other backpack would be too big. This is a nice in between, so I’m on board.
I don’t want to splurge though and buy one from Alexander Wang (however beautiful they may be). The topshop one pictured above fits pretty much everything I want in a bag.
What are your thoughts on fashion backpacks?
Darjeeling 2nd Flush Tea from Sloane Fine Tea Merchants
After I tried this tea at Vanitea with Raye I knew I was going to end up buying it. It was described as “the champagne of tea!” I mean how could I not with that description. I’m not really sure where to buy this though, so until I get around on buying this online it will remain on my wish list.
Since discovering Nars’ “orgasm” blush I’ve been pretty loyal to it (not to mention blush just seems to be the product I have to replace the least often of any of my makeup products). But I’ve heard so many good things about Tarte’s Amazonian Clay blush that I think it’s starting to seep into my conscience. I’m particularly interested in the shade “coral”, I’ve seen it in person at Sephora and it seems enough of a departure from “orgasm” while still being a blush shade that would work on me.
Too Faced Melted Lipstick
I have recently been introduced to the world of liquid lipsticks and I’m very into it. I’ve always been a fan of matte lipsticks but the concept of having a liquid lipstick become matte baffled me at first. Now that I’ve tried it I can’t get enough and I’m desperate to try Too Faced’s take on it.
In my search for the perfect nude, the shade “melted nude” appeals to me. I’ve also recently realized how much I love a bit of a purple hue in lipstick so “melted fig” looks like something I just have to try. Then there’s “melted berry” to appeal to my love of berry tones. I might need all three.
Canadian Built Shirt
If you read my April Currently Coveting, then you’ll know I’m a big fan of the shop Milk here in Ottawa. When they got these shirts in recently I knew it was something I’d be putting on my currently coveting list. I love that the model in this photo is styled wearing leather leggings, that’s probably how I would wear mine as well. Or with jeans, but I’d definitely roll and cuff the sleeves higher and add a statement necklace (my favourite way to style a graphic tee). This is very affordable at $30 but finances are low so this will have to go on the back burner.
That’s it for this month. Let me know your thoughts on any of these items. What have you been coveting?
